30-day trial #2: daily meditation
By Paul | February 3, 2008
In addition to this, I have several secondary aims:
- To alternate each day from Monday to Saturday between doing eight 50 metre sprints and doing 50 press-ups, 50 sit-ups and 50 squats.
- To continue to jog an increased distance each Sunday.
- To experiment with a 7-day cycle to help produce more substantial blog posts (days 1 and 2: research, days 3 and 4: write freely, days 5 and 6: error-check and publish, day 7: rest!).
And some daily intentions:
- To continue to eat at least 3 pieces of fruit.
- To continue to play some Scott Joplin.
- To practise some basic funk piano riffs.
- To listen to (or sing) my barbershop part for Wonderful World.
- To make a minor post on this blog.
As far as the secondary aims are concerned I intend to go easy on myself. If I don’t stick to my intentions this time around, I’ll try again! My hope is that my secondary aims will begin the formation of habits that might become subjects for further 30-day trials.
As I enjoyed my first 30-day trial so much, I’m thinking of completing ten 30-day trials throughout the year (with a few days gap between them to rest and consider the next one!).
